Taught through patience and play!

We met Jaime in July of 2023 at our son’s consult with our local IU. We were fortunate enough that she would be the SLP testing him during this difficult meet. She greeted us with compassion and understanding and met our son where he was at. We luckily got to work with Jaime for the next few years and have her teach our son all the different ways to communicate. Whether it be verbally, through gestures/sounds, or showing him how to frame and harness social connections with peers and family. She taught him this through lots of play, patience, and altered goals/objections to his ever changing IEP. As a Mom new to the Autism community, Jaime made me feel at ease and always highlighted his strengths. It made me realize that small wins are ultimately huge wins when we are building the foundations of communicating. We are so GRATEFUL our paths crossed and the many wonderful things we learned as a family and how to better support our son as he progresses in this world. THANK YOU so much!
